🎨 Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is one of the world’s most popular vector graphics design tools. Its story began more than 35 years ago.

1985–1987: The Beginning

  • Adobe was originally known for PostScript, a page-description language.

  • Illustrator was created as a tool to demonstrate the power of PostScript.

  • Adobe Illustrator 1.0 was released in 1987 for Macintosh.

  • It introduced Bezier curves, which allowed smooth, scalable vector lines — a revolution in graphic design.

1990s: Rise of Vector Graphics

Illustrator 88 (1988)

  • Added new tools like patterns, gradients, and pen enhancements.

  • Became popular among professional designers.

Mac & Windows versions (1990s)
